Hi my wonderful friends :)
Long time, no post! A year ago I decided to buy my own domain name and host in order to try my hand at showing my artwork through a blog I designed myself. Almost a year later and I have very few visitors AND I have a horrible fear of posting on a daily basis.
So..here I am as Bohemian NERD on Blogger. No passwords to memorize, no fear of perfection. Back to words that may be polished or not. But all poems and essays and such are honest, no BS.
Having said all that, today I am participating in one of my favorite prompt sites: Mindlovemisery Menagerie's Saturday Challenge: "Same But Different."
The Challenge: to use the five words provided by finding their synonyms and use those in poetry or prose. The words are: party, new, goodbye, resolution and hope. In my creation, I will use the synonym followed by the original word in ().
For example:
Uncle Buck arrived at the shindig (party) smelling of moonshine.
______________________________________________________________
The band at the soiree (party) sang out silky satin songs of celebration
My feathered disguise stood out among a sea of modern (new), very low cut dresses
I dashed towards the exit, blinded by hot tears with a swan song (goodbye) on my lips
A voice, deep and debonair, called "Wait!', heavy in the air
Eyes lost beneath a dark veil of feathers, an easy smile on pink lips
"One dance, my dear lady," my resolve (resolution) vanished in spite
My heart whispered, "Follow desire (hope) for tonight"
A feathered couple flew that night.

Final Civil War Battle
Droop Mountain blue War souls do sleep Where dew weeps down Rock deep and wet Nature’s monument lest we ever forget This weekend’s Ya-Du was inspired by B&P’s Shardoma and Beyond challenging us to flex our grey matter. The Ya-Du is an ancient Burmese poetic form that follows these rules: 1. Lines 1, 2, 3, […]

My Road Not Taken (Yet)
I would be a creative, chaotic mixture Given the right moment Playing with music all morning Announcing artists and upcoming Art openings and concerts (especially with wine and cheese, please!) Who’s known, who’s not The messy in-between Singer/songwriter and a menagerie As the sun (or rain) creeps up the sky Until it is right above […]

Unrest
Souls cry in anguish Channeled by each breath expelled I bear each burden Today’s haiku is inspired by a painting by Marc Chagall called “The Poet Reclining.” The gauntlet was thrown by Heeding Haiku with HA. Tagged: #haiku, #poetry, heeding haiku with HA, Mindlovesmisery Menagerie

On This Day in History…
As the newly appointed President of the World, I declare this day as National Ball Pit Swimming Day! It is important to recognize the importance of ball pits because they helped shape history as we know it. A couple of flashy factoids: The Pilgrims created the first ball pit in celebration of their first harvest […]

Beauty of Fall Leaves
Belle had wanted to climb out of her shoes the instant her mother put them on. They were tight things and the top strap chained her foot to the leather. She did enjoy their daily walk to the park. It was full of so many wonders. She wanted to feel them all—the ground beneath her […]

The Eternal Passengers
It takes on many forms, my dark passenger A whisper of smoke, a shadow, or even a necklace Long and tenuous, it resides at the base of my neck Extending out to the top of my skull Like a studded collar or rusty chainlink No need to whisper, the roots are deep and terminal Silently […]
